Bengaluru unveiled its inaugural underground air-conditioned marketplace, Palike Bazaar, situated in Vijayanagar near the Metro station and bus stand. Over the weekend, this first-of-its-kind underground market in South India officially opened to the public, drawing inspiration from Delhi's renowned Palika Bazaar. Additionally, the city's underground business scene witnessed a significant development with the approval of the Tunnel Road project, aimed at alleviating Bengaluru's persistent traffic issues. This ambitious project comprises an 18-kilometre twin-tube tunnel that stretches from Hebbal Flyover to the Central Silk Board Junction, featuring multiple entry and exit points. Although the construction of Tunnel Road is underway, it will take some time before residents can benefit from this new traffic solution.
